Synopsis

William Elphinstone was a pivotal figure in the Scottish kingdom during the late medieval period. Born in Glasgow, he became a prominent bishop and statesman, known for founding the University of Aberdeen. His diplomatic career included missions to France and England, and he served as Lord High Chancellor of Scotland. Elphinstone was also instrumental in the introduction of printing into Scotland and the production of the Breviarium Aberdonense. His efforts in education and diplomacy helped shape the future of Scotland's political and cultural landscape.

Condition

Very good. Dust-jacket remains un-clipped and is in mint condition other than one small neat tear to upper front cover (pictured). Boards excellent, text block is sound and tight. All contents present and pages are crisp and clean throughout and free from any names or writing etc. Overall a very good copy.
