A Tale of Scotland's Fight for Freedom

By Cyril Grey

Published by Alexander Gardner, Paisley, undated but known to be 1926. First Edition. Hardback book in scarce dust jacket. Blue cloth bords with gilt titles. 318 pages plus 2 pages of adverts.

This is a Scottish historical novel of Covenanting times by Cyril Grey (1856-1942), who is probably best known as the author of Under the Upas Tree and The Brownie of Weirdlaw .

The author writes in the foreword that his aim in writing this volume is to remind the present generation that the civil and religious liberty that has made Great Britain great, is a blood soaked heritage.

CONDITION

Very good condition. The original dust jacket which is close to 100 years old is in good condition with just a little rubbing to the top of the spine. Boards and spine very good. Pages clean throughout. Name written to front endpaper. Overall a very good first edition.
