Falls of Niagra
Their Evolution and Varying Relations to the Great Lakes; Characteristics of the Power, and the Effects of its Diversion
By Joseph William Winthrop Spencer
Printed by S E Dawson, Ottowa, 1907. First edition, Handsome half leather binding with cloth sides, marble endpapers, gilt top edge, 490 pages plus 4 pages of 'Selected List of Reports'. Illustrated throughout and with a couple of folding maps with the largest being the one at the rear showing the Map of Gorge of Niagra River.
Niagara and its history are so familiar, that most people naturally conclude that almost everything concerning the Falls has already been made known, so that additional work suggests little more than a re-description. This volume tries to redress this conception, there is still much to be learnt about the Falls.
CONDITION
A good clean copy and handsomely presented in a lovey contemporary half-leather binding. The binding is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures provided. Endpapers good. Pages very clean throughout. No names or writing to the book. Overall a very good first edition.
