CONDITION:
Good clean condition throughout. Recently rebound in half cloth with papers sides, gilt title so in good condition. The pages are in very clean condition throughout and free from foxing, stains and other marks. Overall a very good copy.
INFORMATION:
Dr. Reo Franklin Fortune was a social anthropologist who lived for many months with the Dobuans, speaking their language, and becoming a member of a clan. He "presents a first-hand picture of the social dynamics of a Melanesian tribe. . He was initiated into both black and white magical arts by the chief magician of the village." Dr. Fortune was married to the anthropologist Dr. Margaret Mead. He also contributed the number theory named after him to the field of mathematics.
