About:
This wide-ranging poem, which invokes Scotland's natural and martial history in the context of moderization and imperialism, contains two specifically Arthurian sections. The first introduces Taliessen's prophecy and Arthur's return as a savior. The second links Thomas the Rhymer's capture by the fairy queen and the knights' sleep under Eildon, then again invokes the prophecy of Arthur's return.
