Born in Alsace, Loius Muckensturm [1877-1918] emigrated to the US as a young man, and by 1897 was working at the Hotel Marliave in Boston. This book published under a Boston imprint, includes on p.45 the first recipe for a dry Martini to appear in any American recipe book.

CONDITION
A very good copy. The cloth binding is very good with light rubbing. Front pastdown and endpaper are a  little brown with age. Small ownership stamp and label remnant to front free endpaper. Pages very clean throughout. Overall a avery good copy.
