Seton Gordon CBE was a Scottish naturalist, photographer and folklorist. Gordon began exploring the Highlands of Scotland as a boy, particularly the Cairngorms. He later became a world-famous naturalist, photographer and folklorist, describing the wildlife and scenery of Scotland.
The Highways and Byways series of 36 regional guides were published between 1898 and 1948 by MacMillan &Co. These guides were noted for their presentation of a wide variety of interesting places, notable historical events, local flora and fauna, folklore, and legends, as well as the artwork, produced by many noted artists.
