American Statesmen

By Elbert Hubbard

New York & Chicago, W. H. Wise & Co. 1916. Printed and made into a book by the Roycrofters, which is in East Aurora, Erie county, New York. Hardback book in original brown leatherette with debossed tree design on front board (unusual binding). 305 pages, illustrated, beautifully printed.

A collection of short biographies of famous American statesmen by Elbert Hubbard, one of the leading figures in the Arts & Crafts movement in the United States, who founded the Roycrofters in East Aurora, NY. The hand-crafted items they produced are widely collected for their quality and aesthetic appeal, and the buildings which comprised the Roycroft Campus currently enjoy the status of historical landmarks. Hubbard wrote 14 volumes for this series and this is volume III from that series.

CONDITION

A good copy. The binding is good. All contents present and pages very clean throughout. Some pages are uncut at the fore-edge so the book has never been fully read. Overall very good.
