This book presents A Calendar of Feet of Fines for the County of Huntingdonshire levied in the English King's Court from the reign of Richard I to Elizabeth I. A fine was a fictitious legal action used to transfer land ownership, and the author provides English translations of 1,083 fines from the original Latin documents. The calendar is divided into three parts: the first covering the reigns of Richard I to Henry VII, the second Henry VII to Elizabeth I, and the third containing indices of names and places mentioned in the fines.

The author also provides an extended introduction that discusses various aspects of fines, including their form, the property comprised in them, and the spelling and extensions of proper names. This book will be of interest to historians, genealogists, and anyone interested in the medieval history of Huntingdonshire.
