Published by Cassell and Company, London, 1899. Fine prize leather binding presented to a James Phillips in 1900 from the Headmaster of King Edward VI Grammar School in Stourbridge. Full blue leather binding with school emblem stamped to upper board, gilt decorated spine with Royal Crown and EVIR stamped to the bottom panel. Marble page edges. Marble endpapers. pp viii, 292. With 25 b&w illustrations.
CONDITION
An exceptionally good copy. The leather binding remains in fine condition with no damage, good sharp corners, just fractional rubbing to the head and tail of spine, gilt remains very bright and clear. Endpapers very good and inner joints sound with no cracking. All contents present including all 25 illustrations. Pages very clean throughout and totally free from foxing, stains etc. No writing to the book other than on the presentation slip pasted to the inside front board. Overall a fine copy.
