Published by Raphael Tuck and Sons, undated, [1898]. Father Tuck's Nursery Tales Series, No 1474. Softcover book measuring 27.5 x 22 cm. With chromolithographed front cover illustration. 12 pages including the inside boards. With 4 wonderful full page colour illustrations nad several sepia drawings.

CONDITION
A very good copy. The covers are very good except for a little chipping to the rear top corner (see images). Spine very good with no tearing. All pages very clean and free from writing, scribbles etc. Overall a very good copy.

Raphael Tuck & Sons was a business started by Raphael Tuck and his wife in Bishopsgate in the City of London in October 1866, selling pictures and greeting cards, and eventually selling postcards, which was their most successful line. They were also successful in producing lovely books for children. Their business was one of the best known in the "postcard boom" of the late 1890s and early 1900s. During the Blitz, the company headquarters, Raphael House, was destroyed, including the originals for most of their series. The company never fully recovered.
