An very intreresting local history book by a Scottish folklorist, set in Forfar in the early 1700s, that presents "a record of murder, witchcraft, and lawless smuggling." It was the author's intent to "paint a vivid and true picture in all its weird marvellousness, of the period when Scotland was overshadowed by the belief in witchcraft and kindred superstitions.

CONDITION
A good first edition. The cloth binding is good with no tears or splits. Endpapers good. Bookplate to inside front board. All contents present and pages good throughout. Overall a good first edition.
