A collection of sketches, partly fictional, partly autobiographical, [which] first appeared in the "Southern Literary Messenger," and was uproariously received. They were among the first sketches of American life to show the frontier folk to themselves as they really were and to make fun of American manners and speech in a way at once good natured and sardonic.
CONDITION
Good condition. The cloth binding is good with a couple of light marks. All contents present. Endpapers a little grubby with age. Pages good throughout. Couple of marks to the advert pages at the rear. Overall a good copy.
