The old familiar words. Set to appropriate music; arranged in an easy style suited to little minstrels.

Each story is illustrated by pictures, designed in the quaint spirit of Mediaeval times, and printed in colors and gold, by Marcus Ward, illuminator to the Queen.

First series.

William P. Nimmo, Edinburgh, undated but known to be 1872.  First Edition. 12 leaves + 16 colour plates. 15 x 20 cm.

CONTENTS
Sing a song of sixpence, the old story, with original music
The little market woman, a doleful rhyme, with appropriate music
Little Bo-Peep, a sorrowful tale, with lively music
Simple Simon, a foolish story, with appropriate music.

CONDITION

A good first edition. The cloth binding is in good condition with some light rubbing but no tears to the cloth. Endpapers a bit grubby. All contents present. Title page and all other text and music pages in lovely clean condition. All 16  colour plates are present and in very good clean condition with no damage or marks. Very difficult to find this title in such good condition as most copies that apeear for sale have repairs to them or have damaged and missing plates. This copy is complete and all contents clean.
