The Coinage of the British Empire
By Henry Noel Humphreys
Published by David Bogue, London, 1855. First Edition. Large 8vo. Papier maché binding showing the Royal Arms of Edward III and the motto from his gold Noble. Gilt to all page edges. Marble endpapers. 160 pages. With 12 plates done in gold, silver and copper to illuminate the examples of coins, including a frontispiece, and 11 b&w supplemental plates at the rear.
CONDITION
A good copy. The papier maché binding has been rebacked with the original spine laid back down. The boards are in very good condition as they are often found to be cracked or with pieces missing . . there is a little nibbling to the top corners of the front board but otherwise the boards are very good and with no missing pieces. Endpapers good. Repaired title page with publisher details pasted on. Pages good throughout. All plates present and in good order. Some offsetting from plates as expected. Overall good.
