Published by William Blackwood & Sons, Edinburgh & London, 1847. Half-calf leather binding with marbel papered boards and gilt lettering and decoration to spine, 431pp + fold out map to rear of book. Illustrated.
CONDITION
A good and complete copy. The leather binding is good but with cracking to the joints of shoulders. Marble paper to both front and rear boards is scuffed (see pics). Both boards holding on firm with the original hemp cords which have a slight vertical crack (see pics) but are unbroken. Endpapers good and inner joints sound. Illustration to frontispiece remains clear. All text complete. Pages very clean throughout and free from any tears, foxing or stains. The fold-out map is in good condition. Overall a very good copy.
