CONDITION
A good first edition and complete in contents. The leather binding has been rebacked at some point in the past. Endpapers good. Bookplate pasted to the front inside board (Colonel John Wolrige-Gordon). All contents present including all plates and map. Pages are in good condition throughout and free from foxing, stains etc. The fold-out map is in good complete condition with an old repair to a closed tear. All plates are in good condition. Overall a good first edition.
Written by William Thomson under the pseudonym Thomas Newte. An interesting book, documenting the author's experiences travelling through England and Scotland in the late eighteenth century. The journey in the book takes the reader from Oxford, Inverness, Perth, Edinburgh, York, and more.
