Purporting to be the work of Sir John Hawkins, this is actually a collection of satirical poems and parodies by English playwright and satirist Richard Tickell and others, in which they claim their amusing pieces are the competitive essays of Thomas Wharton's rival for the position of Poet Laureate.
CONDITION
A good copy of the first edition. The binding is good with rubbing in places. Endpapers good and inner joints sound. All contents present and pages good throughout with ocassional light grubby mark to the odd margin. Overall very good.
