In the past it has been difficult to find useful information on the weathering and performance of building materials. The space allowed fo these subjects in standard text books on materials can never be sufficient to provide anything but elementary information. Conversely a large amount of information contained in research papers and journal articles is so widely dispersed as to be of little use to the average reader.
The authors of this book have collected together in one volume all the important available information and in some cases added new and previously unpublished material. This volume therefore fulfills an important role which perhaps has been left unfulfilled for too long.
