Published by Challenger Office, Edinburgh, 1910. Volume I only. FIrst Edition. Half leather binding, 4to, pp, lviii, 785 including the general index. With 2 folding maps of Scotland (one geological, one geo-orographical) 15 plates of photos and drawings, few figs in text, biblo., index of genera and species, general index.

This is the first Volume of a series of 6, and is complete in itself. The other five volumes consist of maps , plans and numerical results of dredgings and soundings. Volume I is the most important as it consists of 12 papers on several physical and biological aspects of the lakes, a classic contribution to the study of limnology.  

CONDITION

A very good copy. The leather binding is very good. All contents present and pages in good clean condition throughout. The two folding maps are in good condition but each have one small closed tear to the edges. All illustrations present and in good clean condition. Small name and date to front endpaper. Overall very good.
