The Silver Bough : Scottish Folk-lore and Folk-Belief (Volume One)

By F. Marian McNeill

This is volume I of The Silver Bough, a four-volume study of the national and local festivals of Scotland. This volume covers Scottish folklore and includes chapters on The Druids, THe Gods, The New Faith, Magic, The Fairies, and The Witches.

Published by William Maclellan, Glasgow, 1957. First Edition. Volume 1. Hardback book with dust jacket. 220 pages.

CONDITION
A good first edition. The dust jacket has a little water-stain to the bottom of the spine and has been price-clipped but is otherwise very good. Boards and spine are good. All contents present and pages clean throughout. Small neat inscription to the half-title page. Overall a good first edition.
